Great Conditions See Round 4 Underway at 8.30am

DEE WHY, New South Wales/Australia (Wednesday, May 3, 2011) – A drop in swell overnight to clean one meter (three-foot) surf at Dee Why Point will see Round 4 of the ASP Commonwealth Bank Beachley Classic underway at 8.30am this morning.

After a mammoth day of competition that saw rounds 1 through 3 completed yesterday, just four heats will be surfed today, the remaining four girls advancing into the quarterfinals.

"We're still seeing fantastic conditions at Dee Why Point so we've decided to get the girls out there for round four," Layne Beachley, Contest Director and seven times ASP Women's World Champion, said. "We're looking at another solid swell building on Friday and through the weekend but my concern is that its Southerly direction could skip Dee Why Point causing beach breaks to close out. So, while we have great waves at the Point today, it's best to get some surfing done."

Heat one will see Coco Ho (HAW) up against former ASP Womens World Champion Sofia Mulanovich (PER).
